Jockey Jack Gilligan has made a remarkable return to the saddle in Britain after nearly two years in the wilderness in the US, during which time he thought his career was over due to a persistent shoulder problem.

The Newmarket-born rider recently finished third on his first ride since 2024 on the James Owen-trained Market House in a handicap at Lingfield.
