Tess Russell is sitting across the marble countertop with a bowl of satsuma mandarin slices in front of her, gleefully imposing her cute presence on proceedings.

She is only three years old and has recently learned how to devour food and natter away at the same time, so there isn't a moment wasted. Her father might be at the centre of another commotion, but he can't get a word in here.

"Someone put a 50 pence piece into her about two weeks ago and she hasn't stopped talking since," Davy Russell deadpans of the youngest of his five children.
